Gilgit (PR) – The Karakoram International University (KIU) and the World Health Organization (WHO) have signed a mutual cooperation agreement to work together on polio eradication efforts. According to the KIU Public Relations Department, the agreement was signed by KIU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Attaullah Shah and WHO GB Area Coordinator Dr. Syed Gohar Sajjad.
Under the agreement, both organizations will review polio vaccination days in Gilgit-Baltistan. Additionally, students, faculty, and WHO staff will participate in data collection, community outreach, and field visits under supervision. This collaboration aims not only to enhance the success of the polio campaign but also to provide valuable experience and potential research opportunities for students.
