ISLAMABAD – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s advisor information and public relations Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif and Food Minister Zahir Shah held a joint press conference at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House Islamabad.Addressing the press conference, the Food Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will not buy imported wheat this year ,and so far 14 lakhs metric Tons of wheat has been registered in the app.On this occasion, he said that wheat is being purchased in 22 centers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.The process of purchase has been made very transparent.So far, they have bought 27 thousands 3 hundreds metric tons of wheat.On this occasion, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Minister Zahir Shah Thoru further said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will not buy imported wheat, we are buying 6 lakhs tons of wheat from local farmers.Provincial Food Minister Zahir Shah Thoru also told the media that 3 lakhs metric tons of wheat will be purchased in the first phase.He said that the rate of 40 kg of wheat has been kept at Rs 3900, the process of purchasing wheat has been made very transparent.After a long time, our government is buying wheat from local farmers, we are buying 6 lakhs Tons of wheat, the price of 100 kg of wheat has been fixed at Rs 9,720.We are Also buying wheat and are taking various steps to ensure the transparency of this purchase.The provincial minister said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa do not like the imported wheat, wheat is being purchased in 22 centers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, wheat will be purchased in new phases from 20 May 2024.The Food Minister said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s decision to purchase wheat from local farmers will benefit the province to the tune of 12 billions rupees. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister of Food said that after the continuous decrease in flour prices, 120 grams of bread in the province has been reduced to Rs.15 and 240 grams of bread has been reduced to Rs.30.If any one violate the rule will face strict Leagal action. On this occasion, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Adviser on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif said that there was no drone attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.He further said that the federal government should stop treating Khyber Pakhtunkhwa like a step mother.The Federation had promised the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that the affairs of the Chief Secretary will be decided by mutual consent, but unfortunately, despite the promise, the Chief Secretary is not being appointed.On this occasion, he further said that the burden of FATA (merged districts) is also on our provincial government.Earlier, FATA was given separate fund. The people of FATA are our responsibility and they are part of us.
