The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority has taken swift action against the sale of spoiled meat and substandard toffee (candy)in Peshawar, last day. Giving details by food authority’s spokesperson said, In a recent operation, the authority’s food safety teams raided a butcher’s shop in Jameel Chowk, seizing over 1,000 kg of rotten meat and arresting the butcher. Simultaneously, a factory producing unhealthy toffee in Hazar Khawani was apprehended, resulting in the confiscation of over 550 kilograms of substandard toffee and imposing fines on the factory owner. The authority’s proactive measures aim to ensure the provision of quality and safe food to the public. The Director General Food authority Shafiullah Khan commended recent operations against corrupt practices and urged further vigilance against such elements.
