A shocking incident has unfolded in Kandhkot, where journalist Salim Mirani’s reporting on the law and order situation in Shikarpur has led to harassment by the police. Mirani, associated with News. Channel had shared on social media an incident where robbers held three vehicles and passengers hostage within the limits of Shikarpur’s Rustom police station ¹. Following this, SSP Shikarpur’s gunner allegedly threatened Mirani to delete the post, warning of severe consequences if he failed to comply.

In a disturbing turn of events, SHO Khaleel Rind, accompanied by a heavy police contingent, attempted to surround and arrest Mirani at his office. However, a large number of journalists from the Kandhkot Press Club arrived at the scene, forcing SHO Rind to retreat. The journalists and citizens then cornered SHO Rind, demanding immediate action against him.

The Kandhkot Press Club has taken notice of this unfortunate incident and has approached IG Sindh and DIG Larkana, seeking swift action against SHO Shikarpur ¹. This blatant attempt to silence journalists has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the challenges faced by media personnel in reporting on sensitive issues.
