Kandhkot, August 27, 2024 – District and Sessions Judge Zahid Hussain Maitlo has expressed frustration over the lack of progress in repairing the Judicial Complex building and residences in Kandhkot, which were damaged during the 2022 monsoon rains.
In a letter, the District Judge mentioned that the buildings, including the residence of the District Session Judge, Additional Session Judge, and Civil Judge, were severely damaged due to the heavy rainfall. Despite requesting a report from the Chief Engineer, no response was received.
Consequently, the Secretary of Works and Services has been ordered to appear in person on September 4, 2024. The buildings remain in a dangerous condition, and judges and court staff are still performing their duties within them. A copy of the letter has also been sent to the Sindh High Court in Karachi and the Chief Secretary of Sindh for information.
