QUETTA: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has summoned the chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan in the murder case of the senior lawyer, Abdul Razzaq Shar Advocate on June 26, 2023.
According to the sources, the PTI chief has been summoned by the JIT in personal capacity for investigations into the assassination of the senior lawyer, who was gunned down on June 6 in Quetta.
The JIT has also issued a notice of article 60 of the summon to the former Prime Minister in high profile murder case of a senior lawyer.
It was learnt through the sources that Imran Khan may appear before the JIT on the given date and record his statement in this regard. He (Imran Khan) may also provide evidences of his innocence in the murder case.
It may be mentioned here that FIR of murder of Abdul Razzaq Shar had been registered against Imran Khan.
The provincial government had constituted JIT to probe into the killing of Abdul Razzaq Shar. The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Counter Terrorism Department has been heading the JIT and investigations of the murder case.
Needless to mention here is that Abdul Razzaq Shar was the petitioner in the constitutional petition filed for starting proceedings of the high treason on violation of Article 6 against Imran Khan.
