Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Jeaye Sindh Mahaz (JSM) Sanghar district organized a protest rally demanding the release of three activists allegedly arrested by Tando Adam police. The rally, led by Divisional Leader Punhal Jamali and District President Parvez Chandio, marched from Muhammadi Chowk to the Press Club, where protestors raised slogans against the police.
The arrested activists, identified as Aijaz Hussain alias Manthar Choliani, Imtiaz Ali, and Madad Ali Umrani, were reportedly detained for participating in the Khyber sit-in against the construction of six dams on the Indus River. Speaking to journalists, JSM leaders claimed that the activists were falsely implicated in an FIR and subjected to severe torture during custody.
Punhal Jamali and Parvez Chandio stated, “The arrests are unjust and an attempt to suppress national activists. If the activists are not released immediately, the scope of protests will be expanded across the province.” Central Chairman Riaz Chandio has called for province wide protests on November 29 if the activists are not freed. He further warned that a complete shutdown across Sindh would be announced if their demands were not met.
