– The 13th JCC meeting is scheduled for May 24, 2024, and will be co-chaired by the Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Federal Minister for Planning and Development.
– This meeting marks the beginning of a new phase of cooperation between Pakistan and China under CPEC.
– The JCC is a high-level decision-making body that meets annually to make key decisions on CPEC projects.
– The previous 12 JCC meetings have been successful, and work is underway on the decisions made in those meetings.
– The 13th JCC meeting is significant as Pakistan and China have established five new working groups on economic corridors under CPEC’s second phase.
– These working groups are focused on areas such as job creation, innovation, green energy, and comprehensive regional development, in line with the 5Es framework prepared by the Ministry of Planning and Development.
