Independent Report

QUETTA: The caretaker Provincial Minister for Information, Jan Achakzai has charged that those involved in the facilitation of India are supporting the protest dharna being staged by Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) in Islamabad.
He said that those involved in the facilitation of India and terrorists can’t develop Balochistan.
He said that no one speak about those innocent people martyred in different incidents of terrorism in Balochistan. He said that some 230 people were martyred by the terrorists in Balochistan last year.
This and similar other views were expressed by the Minister Information while addressing a hurriedly called press conference at the Quetta Press club on Tuesday.
The Minister Information said that one document regime policy has already been enforced in the best interest of the country and its people.
He said that it was the decision of state of Pakistan which was enforced in form of the one document regime.
Jan Achakzai asserted that no one can cross the border either from Pakistan or Afghanistan side without the passport.
He said that more than 60 percent Afghan refugees are included in the protest sit-in being staged in Chaman.
Those part of the Chaman protest are opposing the one document regime policy for their interest as they don’t want it to be enforced, the Minister Information asserted. However, the one document regime has already been enforced and no one can move across the border without the passport and visa, he added.
Jan Achakzai also said that we had made the decision for the benefit of people and adding he said that few hundred people can’t decide the fate of 250 million people of the country.
He said that we would do everything possible what we can do in the limited time and as per the given mandate.
Referring the visit of international cricketer Ahmed Shahzad to Quetta, Jan Achakzai said that the caretaker cabinet of Balochistan hailed his visit and the decision about establishing a cricket academy in Quetta.
He expressed concern over the lack of opportunities by the Pakistan Cricket Board for the talented cricketers from Balochistan. He said that we are concerned that PCB is not providing opportunities to the talented players from the province.
He said that more talent would be produced if the desired opportunities were provided to the young players.
