Islamabad police is ready to ensure foolproof security arrangements during Muharram ul Haram, IGP Islamabad

According to details, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, chaired an important meeting to review security arrangements for Muharram Ul Haram, a public relations officer said.

He said that the meeting was attended by all DIGs, SSPs, SPs, SDPOs, and SHOs. IG Islamabad directed all police officers to personally visit the routes of Muharram processions and Imam Bargahs. Officers should strengthen coordination with the management of Imam Bargahs and provide comprehensive briefings to their subordinate staff regarding their duties.

He further emphasized the need to re-examine logistics arrangements. Each officer is required to return to their respective areas after completing the arrangements. Negligence in any area will not be tolerated.

IGP Islamabad mentioned that Islamabad Police commenced preparations for the security of Muharram processions and assemblies a month prior to Eid-ul-Adha. Intelligence-based search and combing operations were conducted district-wide, and data from the past 10 years in Islamabad were reviewed.

He stated that planning will be adjusted based on deficiencies noted over the past decade to ensure comprehensive security during Muharram Ul Haram.

Addressing the police officers, he reiterated, “We are always ready to ensure foolproof security arrangements during Muharram Ul Haram.”

He further urged all teams, from constables to senior police officers, to work diligently day and night to ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and property.
