Islamabad Food Authority raided backery.

“Islamabad, May 31 – A bakery using expired eggs has been shut down. The Food Safety Team, led by Deputy Director Dr. Tahira Siddiqui of the Islamabad Food Authority, raided a bakery unit in the Lehtrar Center and found 2,000 expired eggs. The bakery was using these expired eggs to make sweets. The team found poor sanitation arrangements, a foul-smelling environment, and live and dead flies in the processing area and sweets. The packaging material used was non-food grade paper, and the trays were rusty and dirty. The Deputy Director of the Islamabad Food Authority sealed the bakery for violating food safety laws and using expired eggs, which could cause diseases in people. The bakery was buying these expired eggs from hatcheries at very low prices.
