Irrigation Dept. initiates legal action against canal water pilfering in Naseerabad Div.

QUETTA: The Irrigation Department, Balochistan has initiated legal action against the pilferage of water in canals fall in the Naseerabad division.
According to the Irrigation Department’s official sources, FIR has been registered against those involved in the pilferage of water and impeding flow of water illegally in different canals in Sohbatpur district.
The FIR has been lodged against Sanaullah, Yasir Khan, Samiullah, Muhammad Hamza and others by the Sub-Engineer, Irrigation (Drainage), Zafar Ali.
The Irrigation Department has warned that no one would be allowed to pilfer canal water. Besides, no one would be allowed to make breach in the canal or stop the flow of water in canals illegally, it was further warned.
The Provincial Minister for Irrigation, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani and Secretary Irrigation, Hafiz Abdul Majid have issued directives to mobilize all available resources to stop pilfering of water.
