Quetta, August 5, 2024: The Irrigation Department, Government of Balochistan, has issued a show-cause notice to Chief Engineer (Canal) Irrigation System Balochistan, Naseer Mujeeb.
The notice was issued due to non-compliance with the directives of the Chief Minister of Balochistan, dated May 21, 2024. Despite being informed on May 23, 2024, to take action on the directives, no satisfactory measures were taken, leading to the issuance of the show-cause notice.
The notice states that the Chief Engineer’s absence from duty station, lack of diligence in performing duties, and failure to collect effective information from the office have tarnished the reputation of the department. A reminder was also issued by the Chief Minister’s office.
On August 4, breaches occurred in various canals, and the Chief Engineer was found in Quetta without permission from higher authorities. The Chief Engineer has been directed to clarify his position and submit a response.
