INTERIOR MINISTER MOHSIN NAQVI MAKES SURPRISE VISIT TO KHANNA POLICE Station.

(Independent Report)
Islamabad:Aug 02. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi made an unannounced visit to Khanna Police Station, where he expressed disappointment at the deplorable state of the station.

Upon arrival, the Minister found that the investigating officers were absent from their offices, while two officers were found sleeping in another room under the influence of narcotics. The front desk room reeked of cigarette smoke.

The Minister also discovered that over 1500 motorcycles and several cars were parked inside the police station, for which there was no justification.

During his visit, the Minister inspected the front desk, record room, and lockup, and inquired about the cases of the detained suspects. He ordered the release of four individuals who were wrongly detained for selling goods at the wrong location, after completing necessary legal formalities.

The Minister also directed that the motorcycles parked at the police station be returned to their rightful owners. He emphasized that unnecessary delays in dispensing justice to complainants would not be tolerated.

Furthermore, the Minister instructed the police officials to ensure prompt disposal of cases and to avoid unnecessary delays in providing justice to the public.

Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Rind, accompanied the Minister during his visit.

The surprise visit by the Interior Minister is seen as a move to inspect the performance of police officials and to identify areas for improvement in the delivery of justice to the public.
