A spokesperson for the Inland Revenue Department in Bhimbher has refuted claims made in a recent Facebook post from a Muzaffarabad-based channel. The post allegedly shared false information regarding the department’s actions against certain tobacco companies.
According to the spokesperson, the Inland Revenue Department of Azad Kashmir had imposed identical provisions of Federal Excise Duty on Walton Tobacco Company in Mirpur and Season Tobacco Company in Bhimbher, resulting in the sealing of their warehouses. Contrary to the misinformation, the warehouse of Season Tobacco Company was not de-sealed for a mere fine of Rs 50,000.
The office of the Inland Revenue Department categorically denies the baseless claims made in the post about Season Tobacco Company. As per the official records, Season Tobacco Company has not yet commenced the production of cigarettes or related products. Additionally, the company does not have any warehouse within the Bhimbher district.
This clarification aims to correct the misinformation and ensure that accurate facts are disseminated to the public.
