District Chaman, one of the poorest regions in Balochistan, Pakistan, has long been deprived of basic facilities such as electricity, education, healthcare, employment, and a merit-based system. This deprivation has led to widespread suffering, chaos, and social issues among its population of millions.
In response to this dire situation, Haji Nazar Jan Achakzai, founder of Jan Foundation, has initiated free education and healthcare sectors in the district. Jan Foundation has established two educational institutions, providing professional education, English language training, and computer courses to 900 students from underprivileged backgrounds.
Additionally, Jan Foundation has installed dialysis machinery in the DHQ Hospital, offering free dialysis services to hundreds of patients monthly, including Afghan refugees. This initiative has been providing day-and-night services at an annual cost of one crore since December 2023.
Jan Foundation has also created employment opportunities for 20 individuals in these sectors, aiming to expand its services to surrounding villages and provide free education to rural populations.
Haji Nazar Jan Achakzai emphasizes that Jan Foundation’s agenda is solely focused on providing free education, healthcare, and language training to the poor, orphans, and disabled, without any political or communal bias. He hopes that other philanthropists will join him in addressing poverty and unemployment in the region.
