Islamabad: In his first address to the 16th National Assembly after assuming the role of Speaker, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized importance of collective efforts for the betterment of Pakistan. Speaker Sadiq underlined the significance of unity among members of the House, regardless of political affiliations. “Both the government and opposition play vital roles in the parliament. It is crucial for all members to set aside their differences and work together constructively to propel Pakistan forward,” he stated. Reaffirming his commitment to constitutional principles and the rule of law, Speaker Sadiq pledged to fulfill his duties with integrity, ensuring impartial functioning of the National Assembly. “I am thankful for the trust placed in me, having been nominated for the third time by my leader, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif,” he expressed, acknowledging the collective support from party colleagues and leaders across party lines. The Speaker expressed gratitude to political leader former President Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Moulana Fazl Ur Rehman, Dr. Farooq Sattar, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Abdul Aleem khan and other for their support. He also acknowledged the crucial role played by the voters and supporters of his constituency,emphasizing the significance of grassroots democracy in the legislative process.Furthmore, he expressed his thankfulness to Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar and opposition for taking part in democratic process.Openly inviting all members to engage in constructive dialogue, Speaker Sadiq urged the members of the House to refrain from personal criticism, promoting a spirit of unity and cooperation. “This House thrives on the contributions of every member, and I urge all to participate in constructive debate for the greater good,” he stated.Recognizing the media’s pivotal role, Speaker Sadiq assured full support to the Parliamentary Reporters Association, emphasizing the importance of an active and responsible press in the democratic process.Lastly, Speaker Sadiq called upon all members to unite in advancing the democratic process and contributing to the development of Pakistan. “Let us work together towards a brighter future for our nation, fulfilling the aspirations of our people,” he concluded, fostering a sense of shared responsibity.
