Quetta,: In connection with the anti-corruption awareness campaign, NAB (Balochistan) called the students of National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Quetta to visit NAB Balochistan. During the visit, the students were briefed about the working of NAB and its mandate. It was clarified to students that National Accountability Bureau (Balochistan) is taking proactive steps to educate the young generation about the evils of corruption and the importance of integrity and transparency. NAB’s initiative to literate the young generation is a vital step towards creating a corruption-free society. By empowering students with knowledge and awareness, we can inspire a new generation of leaders who will stand against corruption and promote good governance.
The delegation of students visited various offices of NAB (Balochistan) including investigation wing, A&P wing, regional complaint cell, prosecution wing, library, art gallery and other offices. Director (Awareness & Prevention) and his team assisted the guests for their visit and briefed about the official working by respective heads of wings / cells. Director General NAB (B) in his talk, described the university students as future leaders and urged them to take a stand against corruption and promote a culture of integrity and transparency. He said that students will soon be entering in their professional lives in private or public sectors and they will have the power to make decisions that will impact the future of upcoming generations. He was of the opinion that corruption is a pervasive issue which is affecting every aspect of our lives. It is essential for students to understand the consequences of corruption, which can have far-reaching and devastating effects on individuals, communities, and nations. Students have a critical role to play in eradicating corruption. The world is rapidly transforming towards IT-based financial transactions and it is important to update our prevailing rules and regulations to overcome the curse of corruption. During interaction, he spoke about NAB’s three pronged strategy against corruption i.e. Awareness, Prevention and Enforcement. It was also informed that NAB is reforming its operational methodology. University students have the power to make a difference. Representative of NUML University spoke high for National Accountability Bureau and termed such interactions very valuable in making the students aware against corruption. On behalf of the Regional Director NUML, she assured further cooperation to NAB (Balochistan) for disseminating message against corruption.
