Director General Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab Sohail Zafar Chatta has said in a press conference at Farid Kot House that ACE is investigating four corruption cases of the former chief minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and the purpose of this press conference is to inform the public about Chaudhry Pervez Elahi’s corruption through the media. Sohail Zafar Chatta said that Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had forged the Lahore Master Plan submitted by Darlahandsa/Consultant and

added fake documents to the Master Plan of Lahore arranged by the consultant and tried to get financial interest of 10 to 12 billion by converting agricultural land into residential and commercial land and for this purpose former Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi used his position and office.Director General Sohail Zafar Chatta further said that Chaudhry Parvez Elahi made illegal appointments in the Punjab Assembly without merit and made illegal appointments of people of their choice on more than 300 posts of different grades. He said that the compiled results of the testing service were changed to select his favourite candidates.

And by altering the result, the right of the candidates who came on merit was violated. Sohail Zafar Chatta said that during the tenure of former Chief Minister Pervez Elahi, there was a worst and illegal use of position and power and rules and regulations were always blown up for financial interests. He said that Chaudhry Parvez Elahi just for financial interests increased the crushing capacity of Rahim Yar Khan Sugar Mill by 30 thousand metric tons and the crushing capacity was increased from 12 thousand metric tons to 42 thousand metric tons which is a clear violation of the law and stipulated norms.Because he made the capacity of one sugar mill equal to two sugar mills by using his position.Director General Anti-Corruption Sohail Zafar Chatta further said that the former Chief Minister appointed a non-government employee to the position of Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and promoted Muhammad Khan Bhatti to the most important position of the province under the guise of deputation. He said that a person whose educational qualification is only FA and who does not even meet the standards of the Punjab Assembly has been made the owner of the entire province. In response to a question, Sohail Zafar Chatta said that the Anti-corruption Establishment is conducting indiscriminate operations against corrupt elements across Punjab.
