ILF URGES PRIORITY RESOLUTION OF DEAF AND DUMB ISSUES, DEMANDS COMPULSORY SEATS AND SUPPORT ENROLLMENT
International Lawyers Forum Calls for Mandatory Employment Seats and Inclusion in Support Programs for Deaf and Dumb Individuals
Karachi : Chairman of the International Lawyers Forum, Nasir Ahmed Advocate, emphasized the urgent need to address the challenges faced by deaf and dumb individuals, stressing the necessity for immediate action. Speaking during a special session with a delegation led by Jeronimo Pascal DSA, Ahmed advocated for the mandatory reservation of employment seats for deaf and dumb citizens in both public and private institutions, including judiciary bodies. He also demanded the enrollment of these individuals in the Benazir Income Support Program without delay.
Ahmed highlighted the plight of thousands of deaf and dumb individuals across the nation, asserting that their grievances must be addressed promptly to ensure their well-being and happiness. He called for a thorough investigation into the operations of organizations purportedly serving the deaf and dumb community, emphasizing the need for transparency in their financial activities. Ahmed proposed that the Institute of Cost and Management Accounts of Pakistan, along with the Baitul-Mal Board, conduct audits to ensure accountability.
The delegation, comprising Mukhtiar Habib, Hussain Khan Sodha, Abdul Wahid Bhutto, Abdul Aziz, Zeeshan Akbar Ali, Parvaiz, Naeem Uddin, Kenny Miranda, and others, expressed their concerns to Nasir Ahmed Advocate. In response, Ahmed assured the delegation of the ILF’s commitment to pursuing legal avenues, including approaching the Supreme Court of Pakistan if necessary, to address the issues faced by the deaf and dumb community.
