The Institute of Balochi Language and Culture (IBLC) at the University of Turbat (UoT)
organized a colorful farewell program on November 22, 2023, to honor its graduating
students. The event was decorated with poetry, drama, speeches, music, and songs by the
students.
During the farewell program, Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch, the Director of IBLC, and
Dean of the Faculty of Literature and Languages, commended the students of IBLC for
maintaining their delightful tradition of organizing farewell programs each year.
Congratulating the students for hosting this wonderful event, he further said that this should
not be the final destination for the students of BS and MA Balochi programs, rather they
should continue their education and learning process in the future. They should play their role
in promoting the Balochi language and literature in the world by focusing on research.
Highlighting the importance of the mother tongue, he said that Balochi is not only the mother
tongue of the people of this region but it is the source of your national identity. He said that in
the modern world, countries and nations have developed by adopting mother tongues as their
medium of instruction in their educational institutions. Finally, Dr. Abdul Saboor extended
his best wishes to the graduating students for their success in the future.
Besides, all faculty members, and male and female students of the IBLC, students from
different departments of the University of Turbat also participated in the program in large
numbers
