Hundreds of gbf Empty Trucks Stranded in Afghanistan

Khyber, 05 Aug. (Aman Ali Shinwari) – Hundreds of empty trucks are stranded in Afghanistan due to visa issues. Drivers who entered Afghanistan with only their passports are not being allowed to return to Pakistan. The drivers are requesting permission to enter Pakistan so they can obtain visas and bring their trucks back. However, Afghan authorities are not allowing them to enter Pakistan without visas, and the trucks are also not being allowed to enter Pakistan.

Relatives of the stranded drivers and truck owners have appealed to both countries to show leniency. Speaking at an emergency press conference at the District Press Club in Landi Kotal, Khyber, the owners of the stranded trucks, Abid and others, said that 15 days ago, they had exported goods to Afghanistan using only their passports. On their return, they were stopped at the Pak-Afghan border and not allowed to enter Pakistan because the drivers did not have visas or TAD certificates. They claimed they were unaware of the new policy and would have obtained visas if they had known.
