Quetta, : The Government of Balochistan and Roche Pakistan have signed a historic agreement to provide free medicines to cancer patients under a cost-sharing arrangement.
The signing ceremony was held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, where Special Secretary Health Balochistan, Majib ur Rehman Kambirani, and Roche Pakistan’s Managing Director, Hafsa Shamsi, inked the deal. Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Safraz Bugti, and other officials were also present. Hafsa Shamsi praised the government’s vision for healthcare, saying the agreement would benefit poor patients directly. Majib ur Rehman Kambirani explained that under the agreement, expensive medicines would be purchased through cost-sharing, with Roche Pakistan contributing 56% and the Government of Balochistan contributing 44%. The medicines will be provided free of charge to patients suffering from cancer and other diseases.
