Heavy Rainfall Hits Islamabad, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Orders Immediate Drainage Measures

Heavy rainfall in Islamabad has brought the city to a standstill, with roads and streets flooded and traffic disrupted. In response, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Rindhawa, to take immediate measures to ensure proper drainage and alleviate the problems faced by citizens.

The Interior Minister has instructed CDA to activate field teams for drainage, ensure relevant officers and staff are present in the field, and utilize all resources to address the situation. He has also directed CDA to provide additional staff and machinery for nullah monitoring, monitor roads, nullahs, and waterways, and ensure water drainage at underpasses and other locations.

Furthermore, Mohsin Naqvi has ordered the activation of traffic police to ensure smooth traffic flow and directed that no stone be left unturned to alleviate citizens’ problems during rainfall.

Chairman CDA, Muhammad Ali Rindhawa, has informed the Interior Minister about the measures taken for drainage.

The heavy rainfall has caused widespread disruption in Islamabad, with many residents struggling to commute to work and go about their daily business. The government’s swift response is aimed at minimizing the impact of the rainfall and restoring normalcy to the city as soon as possible.
