QUETTA: The Chief Secretary Balochistan, Abdul Aziz Uqaili has stated that the provincial government is taking steps on war footing grounds in connection with the Monsoon rains in the province so as to prevent the damages in case of heavy rains.
The Chief Secretary was speaking at the review meeting regarding preparations of the Monsoon rains plans and preventive measures here on Monday.
The senior Member Board of Revenue, Roshan Ali Sheikh, Secretary Public Health Engineering, Saleh Muhammad Baloch, Secretary Agriculture, Umeed Ali Khokhar, Secretary Livestock, Arshad Hussain Bugti, Secretary Finance, Zahid Saleem, Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Jahanzaib and other concerned high ups.
The divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners participated in the meeting through video link.
The Chief Secretary on the occasion directed all the concerned government departmnets to maintain coordination and ensure cleaning of the drainage nullahs, sewerage system and cleanliness.
He also directed to ensure implementation on the decision made by the provincial cabinet about action against the encroachments established on the water courses.
In addition to this, all the departments should complete their preparations as per the forecast done by Met office, he directed further.
Earlier, the officers of concerned departments briefed the participants about preparations made by them to tackle the situation following Monsoon rains in the province.
The Chief Secretary stressed that we have to work together to save the people from damages during rains.
He also directed to prepare contingency plan for tackling any emergent situation during the Monsoon rains.
