Govt. of Balochistan orders to register case of Sanjdi mishap against mine owner, 2 others

QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has ordered to register case against three persons including the owner of coal mine in which a mine manager, contractor and nine workers died in Sanjdi area on Tuesday night.
According to the spokesman of provincial government, Shahid Rind, an official letter has been dispatched to the concerned police station for registration of FIR by the Mines and Minerals Department.
It may be mentioned here that 11 persons including the Coal mine Manager, contractor and nine mine workers were died due to the leakage of poisonous gas and suffocation.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Minister for Mines and Minerals, Mir Shoaib Nausherwani said that the coal mine workers were issued warning for several times to adopt precautionary measures in their mines.
Similarly, the coal mine owners were also directed to install meters to check level of gas in the coal mines.
But, they ignored the orders issued from time to time, the Minister Mines said.
He also mentioned that the installation of gas meters has been declared compulsory in the coal mines.
Mr. Nausherwani said that the Chief Commissioner Mines has also been directed to submit report about the safety measures in the mines after their inspection.
