Governor Sindh Vows to Crack Down on Street Crime in Karachi

KARACHI, AUGUST 7, 2024 – Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori met with Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho at the Governor House yesterday to discuss the growing concern of street crime in the city.

During the meeting, Governor Tessori expressed his concern that street criminals have made the lives of citizens miserable and emphasized the need for increased police presence and intelligence gathering to combat crime.

“The citizens of Karachi deserve to feel safe and secure, and it is our responsibility to ensure that,” Governor Tessori said. “I have directed the Additional IG to increase police patrols, blockades, and snap checking throughout the city to prevent and respond to street crimes.”

The meeting also discussed ways to enhance police capabilities and eliminate street crimes from the city.
