Karachi (August 20):
Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori has written a letter to Chief Minister Sindh, urging the provincial government to reduce the electricity price by Rs.14 per unit to provide relief to the public. In the letter, the Governor Sindh requested that similar relief measures be implemented in Sindh as have been done in Punjab, suggesting that the Sindh government could reduce its expenditures to offer this relief.
The letter further stated that relief of Rs.14 per unit would be a significant step, especially for consumers using up to 500 units during August and September. Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori emphasized that adopting a relief plan similar to Punjab’s could alleviate the financial burden on citizens and serve as a testament to the Sindh government’s unwavering commitment to public welfare.
He warned that failing to provide this relief could lead to a sense of deprivation among the public. In the current economic situation, the benefits of such relief would be an essential step toward easing the financial strain on the people. Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori expressed hope that the Sindh government would take this crucial step for its citizens and indicated that he looks forward to a positive response and action from the provincial government.
