Karachi (July 5): Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori has expressed his intention to enhance trade relations with Iran and other friendly nations. He emphasized that the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran are established not only at the governmental level but also among the people. Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori is optimistic about the positive and far-reaching outcomes of the visit by a delegation from various Iranian universities.
Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori made these remarks during a meeting with the Iranian universities’ delegation at the Governor House. The meeting was attended by Iran’s Vice Consul General Ghulam Abbas Zaboli, Chairman of Pakistan Higher Education Commission Professor Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, and other officials. The governor shared that he has visited Iran twice, holding meetings and discussions with governors, the foreign minister, and other officials, anticipating positive progress from these talks.
He also mentioned the honor of awarding an honorary doctorate degree to the martyred President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi. Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori reiterated Pakistan’s desire to boost trade with Iran and other friendly countries. ‘The current government’s Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) aims to provide extensive facilities to investors, he added.
Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori highlighted that the Governor House is providing free modern IT courses to 50,000 students and discussed plans to start language courses in Chinese, Turkish, Persian, and German soon. He stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral trade between Pakistan and Iran and praised Iran’s local governance system, emphasizing the need for mutual benefit from each other’s experiences.
During the meeting, Chairman of Pakistan Higher Education Commission Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed stated that Pakistan is progressing in the fields of science and technology. Prof. Dr. Seyed Abolhassan Navab, head of the delegation, expressed his longstanding affection for Pakistan, commending the hospitality of its people and the popularity of Pakistani mangoes, rice, and sugar in Iran. He lauded the initiatives at the Governor House, including IT courses for youth, ration distribution to the needy, and addressing public grievances.
Addressing students at the IT marquee, Prof. Dr. Navab remarked on his extensive travel experience of 46 years, describing Pakistanis as courteous, aware, and ethical. He noted that Pakistan is the world’s first Islamic republic and the first Islamic nuclear power. He affirmed his lifelong commitment to strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations.
