Duringi : Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori emphasized that highly educated youth are the bright future of the nation, expressing his high expectations from these young individuals. He remarked that these young people have the potential to economically stabilize and strengthen the country. Graduates from the University of Karachi are shining in various fields and bringing pride to the nation. He shared these thoughts while addressing the 32nd Annual Convocation Ceremony at the University of Karachi.
The event was attended by Chairman of the Sindh Higher Education Commission, Professor Dr. Tariq Rafi, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Iraqi, professors, parents of students, and other notable guests. Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori further stated that it is an honor for him to participate in university convocations. Addressing the students, he urged them to applaud their teachers, whose hard work has enabled them to embark on their professional lives. He acknowledged the teachers’ relentless efforts, stating that graduates from Karachi University are making a name for themselves and Pakistan globally.
Governor Tessori encouraged students to work alongside their parents with the same dedication that their parents invested to help them reach this stage. He also stressed the importance of highly educated women participating in economic, social, and economic activities, as progress without women’s involvement is unattainable. The Governor highlighted the importance of respecting the Pakistani Armed Forces, noting the crucial role they play in ensuring national security.
The Governor cited the example of free IT courses being offered at the Governor House, where students earn between $300 to $400 monthly. He expressed optimism that, if continued, this initiative would help Pakistan establish itself in the IT sector.
During the convocation, Governor/Chancellor Kamran Khan Tessori also awarded degrees to the graduates. Notably, 15,341 students were awarded degrees in various fields, including 8,041 from 2021 and 7,297 from 2022.
