Governor KP, H.E Faisal Karim Kundi, attends an Interactive Talk on Youth Development and the Philosophy of Iqbal at Kinnaird College for Women

Lahore, November 9, 2024:* In celebration of Iqbal Day, the Kinnaird Centre for Learning and Cultural Development at Kinnaird College for Women organized an engaging and thought-provoking talk on *Youth Development and the Philosophy of Allama Iqbal*. Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), graced the event as the distinguished keynote speaker. His Excellency’s address, attended by students, faculty, and esteemed representatives from the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, emphasized the transformative power of education and youth empowerment as envisioned by Allama Iqbal.

Governor Kundi shared a compelling reflection on Allama Iqbal’s philosophy, highlighting its relevance to modern youth and underscoring the need for a progressive, knowledgeable, and socially responsible generation to drive Pakistan’s prosperity. The Governor reiterated that empowering young people and fostering development opportunities remain fundamental pillars for the nation’s future, especially within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During his address, Governor Kundi outlined strategic initiatives being implemented to elevate educational standards across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This includes scholarships for FATA students and expanded quotas for individuals with special needs. Acknowledging the challenges faced by communities in certain areas due to security concerns, His Excellency affirmed his commitment to peace-building efforts, paying tribute to the martyrs of the APS attack whose sacrifices underscore a continued pursuit of stability and development in KPK.

The Governor also highlighted pressing conditions in Parachinar, where access to education and essential services has been impacted by ongoing security measures. Nonetheless, he expressed his unwavering commitment to fostering educational growth, noting that reforms at Edwards College Peshawar represent an important step in supporting academic advancement. His Excellency further encouraged collaboration across federal and provincial governments and civil society, stressing the need for collective efforts in uplifting KPK’s educational sector.

In a spirit of unity and engagement, Governor Kundi announced initiatives to expand youth exchange programs, which will allow students from across Pakistan to broaden their perspectives, share experiences, and grow in leadership capacities.

Mr. Rizwan Anwar, Special Representative to the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, also addressed the gathering, affirming the government’s commitment to youth empowerment. He expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, and reiterated the Programme’s dedication to advancing youth skill development. Mr. Anwar assured full support for initiatives that equip youth with the skills needed to thrive in today’s world, particularly focusing on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
