Peshawar, October 21, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, chaired a special senate meeting at the Governor’s House to discuss the inquiry report on Gomal University. The 28-page report, prepared by the Governor’s Inspection Team, probed allegations of fake degree issuance, financial irregularities, misuse of authority, and unfair promotions ¹.
During the meeting, the inquiry report’s findings and recommendations were thoroughly discussed. The report dismissed several complaints as baseless, while noting that some allegations are still under investigation by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) ¹.
Senate members observed inconsistencies between the report’s findings and recommendations. Governor Kundi emphasized that maintaining financial and administrative discipline in universities is non-negotiable, particularly in today’s era of advanced technology where fake degrees can easily be identified ¹.
