Governor Balochistan, Jafar Khan Mandokhail, expressed deep sorrow and regret over the fire incident at Science College Quetta, which damaged its offices and classrooms. He visited the college and praised the principal and teaching faculty for continuing classes in an alternative building.
The Governor commended Vice Principal Syed Ziaul Haq for saving important records during the fire. He noted that a committee has been formed to investigate the cause of the fire and directed them to submit their report as soon as possible.
Governor Mandokhail emphasized the need for a structural test of the affected area to ensure the safety of students and staff before starting renovation work. He acknowledged the college’s rich history and its notable alumni, stating that they are determined to restore the institution to its former glory.
The Governor also inspected the college ground and directed the authorities to renovate it, including water recycling for the college’s trees and plants. Science College Quetta has approximately 8,000 students and 196 professors and lecturers
