Governor Balochistan seeks cooperation of Intl. institutions for provision of basic facilities in Afghan refugees living areas

QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has stated that Pakistan is playing an important role for peace of the region. We need support of the international institutions for provision of the basic facilities in the Afghan refugees and the areas affected from them.
He said that establishment of sustainable peace is in the interest of the whole region particularly Pakistan.
The Governor was speaking to the country representative of UNHCR in Pakistan, Ms Philippa Candler who called on him here at the Governor’s House on Tuesday.
Also present in the meeting were included Head of UNHCR sub-office, Tesfaye Bekele, Commissioner Afghan Refugees, Arbab Talib and Principal Secretary to Governor, Hashim Khan Ghilzai.
The country representative of UNHCR thanked the Pakistani nation and government on extending hospitality to the Afghan refugees for last four decades.
She assured that we are determined to start new projects for the welfare of refugees and local population.
