Governor Balochistan directs to QESCO to provide electricity on Agri. feeders for six hours with full voltage

QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has directed to Quetta Electricity Supply Company (QESCO) to provide electricity on all agricultural feeders for six hours with full voltage.
Otherwise, the heavy losses would cause to the standing crops, green orchards and vegetables.
He said that there is very important role of agriculture sector to provide food to the people and provide raw material to the industrial sector in the country.
He was of the strong view that putting agriculture and livestock on modern lines is vital for economic development of the province.
The Governor assured that the Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif would be informed about the hardships being faced by the growers of the province.
The Governor was speaking to the office bearers of Balochistan Zamindar Action Committee who called on him here at the Governor’s House on Monday.
The former Member Provincial Assembly Malik Naseer Ahmed Shahwani and Abdul Rehman Bazai led the delegation.
The Governor said that the agriculture has the status of backbone in the country’s economy.
But this backbone has been weakened very much due to the spells of drought, devastating rains, electricity load shedding and lack of agriculture package. Due to the situation, this sector can’t afford to bear more burden and if the weak backbone was not strengthened, then the zamindars would suffer a lot, adding he feared.
