QUETTA: The Governor Balochistan, Malik Abdul Wali Kakar has stressed the need to economically empower the persons with disabilities in the society.
He also emphasized upon implementing the quota of jobs allocated for the disabled persons in the provincial and federal government departments.
In a message issued on occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities being observed today (Sunday), the Governor said that he knows that the whole family happens to be in pain and hard situation if there is any disabled person in a family.
He said that the life of disabled persons can also become miserable because of the lack of desired facilities and unsympathetic behaviours of the people in society.
Under the given circumstances, the all members of the family of disabled persons especially the parents deserve appreciation who care them passionately, the Governor mentioned.
He said that behaving good with the disabled persons is necessary for healthy and civilized society besides keeping it alive and moving on.
The Governor said that the disabled persons are also benefitting from the modern science and technology, which is an encouraging. A lot of hardships have also been removed with the use of technology, he added.
In this regard, he gave the example of renowned scientist, Stephen Hawking, who demonstrated extraordinary performance in the fields of science, technology and philosophy despite the physical disability.
Addressing the persons with disability, the Governor said that they can be physically disabled but they are not destitute at all.
In his message, he stressed the need to economically empower the persons with disabilities by providing them opportunities of livelihood and implementing the quota of jobs allocated for them.
