QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has taken notice of the torture on a citizen by police personnel in Shahbaz Town area on Sunday.
According to an official hand out issued here, the provincial government has ordered to the Inspector General of Police to conduct an inquiry into the matter and take action against those involved in the torture.
In this regard, the caretaker Provincial Minister for Information, Jan Achakzai said that the government took notice of the matter after a video of torture on the citizen got viral.
He asserted that such behaviour of police is not tolerable with the citizens. He said that government has issued directives to Inspector General of Police to inquire the matter and take stern action against those involved in the torture.
He said that the differences between police and public may increase with such untoward incidents, however, the government would not let this happen because of mistake of any personal.
It may be mentioned here that the police along with QESCO had raided Shahbaz town area of Quetta on Sunday. During the action, police tortured a citizen allegedly involved in electricity theft when he refused to go with the police.
