GoB signs MoU with Roche Pakistan for provision of free of cost medicines

QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has signed a me memorandum of understanding (MoU) for provision of free medicines to the patients suffering from fatal diseases in the province.
The MoU was signed in presence of the Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti and high ups of the Roche Pakistan at the Chief Minister secretariat on Thursday.
The Secretary Health, Mujeebur Rehman Qambrani and Managing Director of Roche Pakistan, Hafsa Shamsie signed the MoU.
Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director Roche Pakistan said that the vision of provincial government regarding healthcare is appreciable. She termed the MoU for provision of medicines to the poor people as historic.
The poor people would directly benefit from the initiative, she added.
The Secretary Health said that the costly medicines would be purchased under cost sharing as per the agreement.
The Roche Pakistan would pay the 56 percent cost while the provincial government would pay the remaining 44 percent.
However, the medicines would be provided to the patients suffering from cancer and other fatal diseases free of cost, he added.
