Global Handwashing Day observed: Dr. Rubaba Buledi emphasizes upon importance of following hygiene principles to ensure our health

QUETTA: Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan for the Women Development Department, emphasized the importance of following basic hygiene principles, such as handwashing, to ensure our health.
She made these remarks while addressing participants at an event held at Government Girls High School Killi Sheikhhan, Quetta, in marking the Global Handwashing Day.
Dr. Rubaba Buledi stated that a significant cause of deaths among children under five each year is respiratory diseases and diarrhea, which can be prevented through the simple act of handwashing. While washing hands may seem trivial, it plays a crucial role in saving lives.
Additionally, discussing the topic of breast cancer, Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi noted that approximately 90,000 women in Pakistan are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, out of which 40,000 lose their lives.
She urged women to gain awareness about this deadly disease to facilitate timely diagnosis and treatment.
She also praised the initiatives of the Kathleen Kamal Raisani Foundation, stating that awareness campaigns like these are commendable for promoting a healthy lifestyle in society.
