Four-member Inquiry committee formed to probe into Sanjdi coalmine mishap

QUETTA: The four-member Inquiry committee has been formed to probe into the tragic incident of coalmine occurred in Sandi coalmine field located in the outskirt of Quetta.
The sources of Mines and Mineral Development department told that Mumtaz Ahmed has been designated as Chairman of the Inquiry Committee for inquiry into the Sanjdi coalmine mishap earlier this week.
The sources said that the Inquiry committee would submit it’s report to the provincial government within 10 days for further necessary action.
The committee would also fix the responsibility of the coalmine mishap that had claimed lives of 11 coalmine workers including Manager and contractor of the mine.
The coalmine workers were killed due to the suffocation of poisonous gas accumulated in the affected coalmine.
Primarily, case was registered against three persons including the owner of coalmine. However, no arrest has been reported in the case, the police sources confided.
