Former Vice President of FPCCI, Atif Ikram Sheikh has emerged as the most favorite and deserving candidate for the slot of President of FPCCI in the upcoming elections. He will contest the election as the candidate from United Business Group (UBG).
In a recent meeting, the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) unanimously nominated him as their candidate for the FPCCI’s post. The representatives of traders, industrialists, and the corporate sector supported him.
Moreover, Chairman UBG North Rauf Alam, Chairman UBG Punjab Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh, Chairman UBG KPK Ghazanfar Bilour, Chairman UBG Balochistan Daroo Khan Achakzai, and Secretary General UBG Zafar Bakhtwari have also put their weight behind Atif Ikram Sheikh.
Chairman of the Founder Group, Khalid Iqbal Malik, who was the first to voice his favor, said that Atif Ikram is the best choice as he is popular among all and sundry, he is very hardworking, and he enjoys respect in business and government circles.
Atif Ikram Sheikh has also served as Chairman PVMA and President ICCI, and he is very popular among the social and business circles. I hope that he will not only improve the image of FPCCI but also try his best to resolve the problems of the business community, said Khalid Jaweed and Tariq Sadiq, who have served as presidents of ICCI
It may be recalled that the nomination of Atif Ikram was approved in a UBG meeting held on August 4, 2022, after which the Core Committee of the UBG, in its meeting held at PC Karachi on August 21, unanimously approved the name of Atif Ikram for the slotivate of President FPCCI.
