Foolproof security to be provided to teams: Five-day anti-polio campaign to begin from October 28 in Quetta district

QUETTA: Five-day anti-polio campaign is scheduled to begin from October 28 in Quetta district.
Over 424,000 children below five years of age would be administered anti-polio vaccine in the campaign.
Foolproof security arrangements would be made for the immunization campaign for around 1600 police personnels would perform the security duties.
These details were shared during a meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Lt. (Retd) Saad bin Asad about the upcoming anti-polio campaign in Quetta on Thursday.
The District Health Officer Quetta,Dr Farhan, Dr Safdar, Assistant Commissioners as well as the concerned officials and representatives of the WHO and Unicef participated in the meeting.
The religious leaders especially participated in the meeting.
The meeting was briefed about performance of the teams in previous polio immunisation campaign and coverage.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner said that foolproof security arrangements would be made in the areas where there are the issues of security.
He said that the strength of police would be increased for security of the sensitive areas.
He said that show cause notices would be issued to the polio teams which didn’t perform well.
He issued directives to take every possible steps for complete eradication of the polio virus.
He said that stern action would be taken against the personnels committing negligence in the campaign.
