Food Safety Crackdown: 500kg of Contaminated Meat Seized in Islamabad

Islamabad, July 15: The Islamabad Food Authority has seized 500 kilograms of substandard and contaminated meat from a shop in Abpara Market. The raid, led by Deputy Director Dr. Tahira Sadique, aimed to curb the sale of unhygienic food in the city.

The authority found the meat supplier hiding low-quality meat in their vehicle, and the shop was sealed for violating food safety regulations. The consumption of such meat can be harmful to human health, and the authority has urged food business owners to ensure compliance with food safety laws.

The crackdown is part of the authority’s efforts to eliminate the meat mafia and adulteration in the city’s food supply. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty of selling substandard food products.
