FOOD AUTHORITY CRACKS DOWN ON SUBSTANDARD FOOD OUTLETS

Quetta, August 6, 2024: The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has imposed fines on over 15 outlets, including 4 milk shops, for selling substandard and adulterated food items during a crackdown in various areas of Quetta.
According to a BFA spokesperson, the authority inspected milk shops in the Sarki Road and Quari Road areas following public complaints. Samples were collected from the shops and tested on the spot, revealing that two shops were selling adulterated milk. Additionally, two shops were found to have poor hygiene conditions and no food business licenses

 

The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has intensified its campaign against substandard food outlets, imposing fines on several restaurants, bakeries, meat shops, and wholesalers in various areas of Quetta.

During inspections in Masjid Road, Joint Road, Satellite Town, and Pashtunabad, two restaurants and one bakery were fined for violating food laws. Several other outlets were also penalized for not having licenses. Director General BFA, Atiqullah Khan, stated that the authority is committed to ensuring that only quality food reaches consumers.
