FLOOD ALERT ISSUED FOR LASBELA DISTRICT, PAKISTAN

Lasbela, August 17, 2024: A flood alert has been issued for Lasbela district due to expected heavy rainfall and potential flash flooding. The Deputy Commissioner’s office has warned citizens of a high-level threat and urged them to cooperate with authorities and take precautionary measures.

According to the Meteorological Department and PDMA, heavy rainfall is expected in the district after 12 am tonight, posing a risk of flash flooding. The next 48 hours are crucial, and citizens are advised to stay alert and help each other in case of an emergency.

Announcements are being made through mosques and police stations to raise awareness among the public. Deputy Commissioner Lasbela, Hamira Baloch, has directed all line departments to remain vigilant and take necessary measures to mitigate the flood threat.

In a separate development, a crackdown on butchers has been launched in Quetta following persistent public complaints. The operation aims to address concerns and ensure compliance with regulations.
