First-ever convocation of Govt. Postgraduate Girls College Quetta:

QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has stated that the martyrs lightening candles of knowledge and rendering sacrifices of their lives for restoration of peace in the province are matter of pride. The great sacrifices of our martyrs would always be remembered.
The Chief Minister was addressing the first-ever convocation of the Government Postgraduate Girls College here on Monday.
The Provincial Minister for Education, Ms Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani, Principal of the College, Professor Raheela Ramzan, teachers, students and their parents participated in the convocation.
The Chief Minister on the occasion remembered the Professor Nazima Talib of the Balochistan University, martyred in an incident of terrorism and announced establishment of the faculty in her name.
He also announced to provide 500 laptops to the academic staff and students of the college.
Addressing the ceremony of distribution of gold medals and degrees among the position holder students in different BS programmes, the Chief Minister said that no society can progress without education of the women. He said that Islam has also preached to impart and promote education without any gender discrimination.
He mentioned at the moment, five women Deputy Commissioners and one Assistant Commissioner are posted in Balochistan who have proved by showing very satisfactory and exemplary performance that they are second to none in God-gifted capabilities than men.
He said that an educated mother proves to be the basis of a conscious and progressive family. Therefore, we should pay wholehearted attention on education of our daughters, adding he stressed.
The Chief Minister on the occasion referred to the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Programme launched for the first time in the province.
He said that the provincial government would bear the expenditures of 16-years of education of the top 10 position holder male and female students of Matric.
Moreover, the fully funded scholarships would also be offered to every student of the province doing Ph.D in any subject of the science in 200 higher universities of the world.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti advised the female students to work hard with dedication and concentration for acquiring education.
He also exhorted the female students to make service of the people of the province and country their mission.
He stressed that unconditional loyalty with the country and hard work with good intention for it should be our aim as dignity lies in it. He said that whoever has been loyal with Pakistan gets respect, and whoever has been disloyal to the country gets disgrace.
The Chief Minister highly appreciated the long academic services of the Principal of Postgraduate Girls College who is going to retire this week from government service.
He said that the services of Professor Raheela Ramzan would always be remembered in golden words.
He also appreciated the Provincial Minister for Education, Principal, teachers and students on holding first successful convocation of BS programmes of the college.
He assured to meet all requirements of the college for making it an exemplary institution.
The Minister for Education Ms Rahila Hameed Durrani and Principal of the College also addressed the convocation ceremony.
It may be mentioned here that some 400 female students of different BS programmes were awarded degrees at the college level.
