FIA PESHAWAR ZONE CRACKS DOWN ON FAKE IDENTITY CARD SCAM, ARRESTS 6 AFGHAN NATIONALS

Peshawar, August 8: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Peshawar Zone has arrested six Afghan nationals for their involvement in a fake Pakistani identity card scam. The accused were found to be in possession of fake Pakistani identity cards and passports.

The FIA team arrested Najeebullah, an Afghan national, at the Torkham border, and recovered a fake Pakistani identity card and an Afghan tazkira from his possession. Initial investigation revealed that the accused had entered Pakistan through the Chaman border and obtained a Pakistani passport and identity card through a facilitator, Qari Hafiz, based in Quetta.

Following the arrest, the FIA team raided the Usmania Hostel in Peshawar and arrested five more Afghan nationals, who were also found to be in possession of fake Pakistani identity cards and passports. The agency has recovered multiple Pakistani identity cards, passports, and Afghan tazkiras from the accused.

The FIA spokesperson said that the accused were planning to use the fake identity cards and passports to travel to Saudi Arabia via Kabul. The agency will investigate the involvement of Nadra and passport office employees in the scam. The FIA is conducting raids to arrest the agent involved in the scam.
