Islamabad, August 7

In a major breakthrough, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Interpol has arrested a wanted fugitive, Ali Shamshad, from Kuwait in connection with a high-profile murder case.

Shamshad, who was wanted by the Punjab Police, had fled abroad after committing the murder in 2023. A case was registered against him under murder charges at the Range Mahal Police Station in Lahore.

The FIA Interpol had issued a Red Notice for his arrest, which led to his capture in Kuwait. He was later handed over to the Punjab Police by the FIA Immigration Islamabad.

The spokesperson for the FIA credited the successful arrest to close coordination between Interpol Islamabad and Interpol Kuwait.
