FIA CYBER CRIME WING ARRESTS FORMER BUREAUCRAT AND ANCHORPERSON ORIA MAQBOOL JAN

The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing has arrested former bureaucrat and anchorperson Oria Maqbool Jan from his residence in Defense Housing Society (DHA) Phase 6.

According to sources, Oria Maqbool Jan has been booked under the Cyber Terrorism Act for allegedly spreading religious hatred and promoting enmity against institutions through his social media posts.

Oria Maqbool Jan’s lawyer, Azhar Siddique Advocate, confirmed that his client is being held at the Gulberg Cyber Crime Office and will be presented before a Judicial Magistrate on Thursday.

The FIA has not disclosed further details about the case, which is reportedly related to Oria Maqbool Jan’s comments on the Mubarak Sani case.
