_ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 14 (INDEPENDENT DESK)_
Today, we celebrate the 78th anniversary of Pakistan’s independence. Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, said that our ancestors laid the foundation of an Islamic state with unwavering resolve, unity, and faith, making immense sacrifices.
While we celebrate independence with enthusiasm, we face numerous challenges at the internal, regional, and global levels. The most pressing issue is achieving economic stability and comprehensive development. Ahsan Iqbal noted that due to political instability, policy discontinuity, democratic disruptions, extremism, and terrorism, we have failed to set clear development goals over the past 77 years. Consequently, countries that gained independence after us have surpassed us in development.
Ahsan Iqbal expressed satisfaction that the current government in Pakistan is committed to setting clear goals for the country’s progress.
